I am looking for something that I can put under my outboard boat motor tarp cover that will keep out mud daubers. I am not trying to kill all of them just trying to keep them out of my boat motor. They can ruin a motor. Thank you for any help.

In our lodge we notice wasps each fall.  When we set off a bomb we end up sweeping up hundreds of wasps–set off two bombs this year and we are still sweeping up wasps. Are they coming from the outside or do you think we have a nesting problem inside. What to do?

Hi,
I have a Red Paper Wasp nest laying somewhere in my bushes next to my wind-up hose watering box.  We have looked for the nest & cannot see it.  Today I bought a WHY TRAP for Wasps, Hornets & Yellow Jackets at Home Depot (before I discovered your site).  IF it kills any of the wasps…what about the queen & are there larvae in the nest that will eventually hatch?  Can I dust the bushes with your dust & eliminate this problem?  My biggest concern is that they will live through the winter and we will have a bigger problem next year.  We have had a major problem with Honey Bees, Red Wasps and Yellow & Black things that I think are European Wasps.  Wasps and bees have never bothered me before, but this year we have had them in our house, my nephew got stung by a red wasp, and I have been stung by both a Honey Bee & a yellow and black thing that had a nest that looked similar to the red wasp nest (it had a slender body).  I am now terrified of anything that flies!  The Honey Bee stung me in the back of my head, the nape of my neck, and the yellow thing stung me on my thumb.  My head still has a bump after 1 month, and my finger is still swollen after 5 days!

i have several wasps flying around my roof and downspouts each day but i don`t see a nest?

This is no surprise. In general, wasps will find these places attractive any time of year. As explained in our WASP CONTROL ARTICLE, they like sheltered spaces and voids for nest building so the sides of homes, up under soffits and roof lines, are perfect locations for them to live. But there are many homeowners who never see them during the summer and then in the fall they start to appear. So why only then?

Hello,

I found your Website on a Google search.  It is the time of year, again, where we have wasps entering our house and congregating around the top of our chimney outside.  We have had three different pest control companies come out over the past 5 years, all saying it would cost from 300-500 dollars to "try" and treat them; with no guarantees.  I figured for that money we should do it ourselves and actually get rid of them, instead of just trying.  But obviously our efforts are not enough!!  Year after year, no matter what we try, they seem to over-winter and return in the spring.

I have been seeing tons of wasps on the side of my house alongside the chimney. They get close to one another like they're huddling but don't move much. I don't see any nest and by late morning they seem to disappear. I don't see them every morning but mostly when it gets cool. Last year we had a few doing this but now its like hundreds. I want to treat but where? I can't find the nest.

I’m in Washington state and have a small vineyard (6 rows, 120 ft long each).  This year, for the first time, yellow paper-wasps inundated my ripe grapes and destroyed over ½ the fruit.   I used sevin, malathion, and Spectracide, and none had any affect.

I live in Central Texas close to Austin and have lots of red wasps this year. But they are not building nests just bunching up in piles along the eaves of the house as well as in the trees.  When we went to buy more wasp spray alot of the stores were out and they said several people had complained about the same issue.  Any reason you know of why this could be happening?
