wasps in vinyl siding soffits and attic

0

Hi! I had wasps sneaking in above and finally making it into our bathroom fan and freaking out my son. I had a prof pest control (?!) up until then. When a red wasp made it to the bathroom late last summer, the owner came and treated the attic, etc. I have since fired them. I thought one had to re spray/dust in the spring. I have a 4500 sq foot vinyl house in the country. I am a girl but I have crawled up in the attic before. What all should I get? It’s been cold in AL so I haven’t seen any wasps until today and don’t want them to pheromone their way back…EVER. Thanks!

If you read our Wasp Control article, you’ll see a product called Drione Dust mentioned repeatedly. If you apply it up under the siding once in the spring and once in the fall, you won’t have wasps foraging into your home anymore. Apply it with a Dustick and Hand Duster.

You should also dust the attic at least once a year with the drione. Use 1 lb per 1000 sq/ft and use a Dustin Mizer or Power Duster to get it applied.

Lastly, if you find some flying around the outside of the vinyl trying to rest, spray with Cypermethrin. It’s highly repellent to wasps and will keep them off the exterior for a month or per treatment.
